From Zero to Billionaire

About this story

Overnight, the prices of all goods worldwide, real estate listings, luxury car price tags, bank deposits, and salaries were uniformly reduced by one hundred million times, with the US dollar remaining the sole currency unit. The assets of ordinary people shrank proportionally, yet their purchasing power stayed unchanged. Everyone’s minds and perceptions remained rooted in the old economic reality—they still viewed luxury vehicles and mansions as exorbitantly expensive, holding the belief that those from lower social classes were unworthy of elite resources. Only Ethan, the male protagonist, was unaffected: the mere $317.42 left in his bank account retained its full original value. He alone possessed complete awareness of the world before the reset, making him the only person who understood the truth behind the global price collapse. The miracle stemmed from a single act: during Ethan’s lowest point, ignoring the judgmental stares of onlookers, he helped an elderly mysterious stranger, Mr. Gray, who had fallen to the ground. As a token of gratitude, the old man gave him an antique silver coin, a Legacy Token. This relic was the source of the global economic reset and the reason Ethan’s wealth stayed intact. The silver coin held no inherent power to generate fortune; it only bore witness to Ethan’s choice to remain kind even when trapped in utter despair.
